occupation since the 24th inst. The M.G. position was located also 7 German corpses, 2 M.G. mountings complete, various articles of equipment including first aid outfit, a number of bolts & steel boxes of belts of S.A.A. All bodies were stripped of papers, two M.G. mountings including a new breech block, bolts & steel boxes were safely brought back to our lines & deposited at Bn H.Q. Before leaving, the positions were destroyed and two sniper plates brought back. The party regained our trenches without casualties. All dead belonged to 457th REGT & their papers were forwarded to BDE H.Q.

In Ravine 15 (R. 19 a. central) general accommodation made for troops, latrines dug, cookhouses made, dumps constructed etc. Direction of enemy's batteries appears to be on a line

25 boxes of German M.G. ammunition belts were brought in new, 2 steel M.G. water pans [?], 5 empty belts ("as new"), 37 MAUSER rifles & 1 CARBINE ("as new") these are results of further reconnaisance.

An important reconnaisance of enemy positions was carried out according to instructions received from Bde H.Q.
