Battalion holding position on RHONDDA HILL.

The ground N & N.E. of our position and in direction of LA VAQUERIE was regularly patrolled from 8.50 to 10.0 p.m. but it was impossible to get close ot enemy wire owing to burning dug-outs. No enemy patrols were seen.

After remaining 6 consecutive days in the position captured by us, we were relieved by the 19th R.W.F. The relief was completed by 11. 40 p.m. without incident.

GOUZEAUCOURT  30 - 4 - 17
The Battalion in Brigade reserve on the old line of resistance. Battalion relieved at midnight by the 19th R.W.F. & then amrched into Brigade Reserve in billets in EQUANCOURT
