CALONNE   3/9/16 (03/08/16?)
'A' Coy, relieved 'D' Coy, in front line, 'D' Coy taking up billets vacated by 'A' Coy, in CALONNE.

Instructions received from 119th Bde to push on with work in Boyaux 210 & 211, to make a new T head on the site of of an old trench leading out of STAFFORD trench and to put out wire for the protection of the mine head in the Boyau 211

Wire was put out round the bombing post at the end of STAFFORD trench. This post is now fairly secure and is of great value for the protection it affords to the mine head in Boyau 211.

4/9/16 (04/08/16?)
Improvement of trenches continued with satisfactory results. Several portion of the front line were deepened and new wire put out. Usual collection of debris from Morgan trench disposed of.

       Casualties - 1 O.R killed, 2 O.R wounded.

5/9/16 (05/08/16?)

The bombers holding the end of STAFFORD trench were formerly much exposed to shrapnel and grenade fire. Cover has now been made by constructing a small 'bay' for each sentry.

Our wiring parties were interfered with the by M - Gun fire, but in spite of this a good deal of wire was put out in front of STAFFORD trench and the BURNING BING.

       Casualties - 3 O.R wounded.

6/9/16 (06/08/16)
Enemy bombardments with new gas during the last four days have been heavy and frequent, but our sentries are now so well-trained & use their whistles to such good advantage that losses among our men have been reduced to a minimum. Aerial darts and rifle grenades are now the greatest source of danger but provision of head cover should result in minimising this danger.

      Casualties 1 O.R wounded.
