RANCOURT SECTOR 11.2.17 to 15.2.17 Whilst in support all available men were employed on R.E. fatigues. Casualties NIL.
Officially notified that on 4.2.17 2/Lt H. N. O'DONNELL died of wounds received in action on 16.1.17

Lieut F. T. WILLIAMS and 2Lt. A. R. JONES reported from England & were taken on the strength of the Battalion. 2Lt E. HAMMOND re-joined for duty from Hospital 2 Lt Davies proceeded to join 4th Field Survey Coy.
RIGHT subsector RANCOURT Sector 15.2.17
On the night of 15/16 th the Battalion relieved the 19th Bn. Royal Welsh Fusiliers in the Right Sub-sector of RANCOURT sector, relief was complete at 2-30 a.m. Disposition of Companies RIGHT 'D' Coy. LEFT. 'B' Coy. SUPPORT 'C' Coy. RESERVE 'A' Coy.
Casualties NIL.

Our Artillery shelled steadily throughout the night ST PIERRE VAAST WOOD. The enemy shelled with 4.2's our Right Coy. Front Line Support trenches between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. from the direction of MOISLANS WOOD no material damage was sustained. At 1 p.m. a few whiz. bangs fell near H. Q. Support Coy. Casualties NIL.

At 3 a.m. enemy shelled Right Coy front line with 4.2 Shells and large muienwufers shelling appeared to come from the EAST, but it was thought another Battery was also firing from N. E. Our Artillery
was fairly active all day.
