was called for and hostile trench mortars silenced in early hours of 9/7/16. Casualties to 12 noon 8/7/16 - 1 O.R killed and 6 O.R wounded.

 

CALONNE   9/7/16
Damaged caused by previous night's bombardment repaired and work on new trench continued.

Casualties from noon 8/7/16 to noon 9/7/16 - 4 O.R killed, Capt Sheppard and 9 O.R wounded.

 

10/7/16
Quiet day.

Casualties from noon 9/7/16 to noon 10/7/16 - 5 O.R wounded.

 

11/7/16
Battalion relieved by 19th Bn. R. W. F. and went into billets in CALONNE vacated by the latter.

No casualties.

'No mans' land from Boyau 200 to Pit Prop corner patrolled nightly. No enemy patrols seen and no wiring parties found at work during period 7/7/16 to 11/7/16.


12/7/16
Work done remaking Boyaux 237,235 and 234, deepening HOXTON Road between Boyaux 230 & 237. Working party putting firebays along BIRDCAGE WALK from Boyau 210 to the trench leading to DOWTY'S Post and clearing Boyan 210.
