Considerable amount of work done on Boyaux 207 and 208, in Morgan
Trench and in Boyaux 214 and 215
Patrols report enemy front line in CITE DES CORNAILLES DIVION
to be occupied at night, very lights fired from enemy support
line. No enemy patrols or wiring parties out. 2 Lt LG Walton wounded.

4 enemy loophole plates between M.2 0.b. 5. 4 and M 20.b. 8. 6
fired on by one of our snipers with an elephant gun. All four
plates penetrated. Orders received to send out patrols during the night
with a view mto to intercepting the enemy's attempts to repair his wire
in front of the N.W. corner of the CITE DES CORNAILLES
and procuring a prisoner.
Three parties were sent out
under 2 Lt HM Thomas, 2 Lt C. Waring and Cpl. J. Rees. All
of three patrols reported no trace of enemy patrols or wiring party. Patrol
on left report enemy line in CITE DES CORNAILLES unoccupied,
patrols on centre and the right report lines strongly held.

4 a.m.
Camonplit blown at 4 a.m. at M. 20 .b. 5. 5. Our snipers
had been warned and claimed 3 hits in enemy trenches at this hour. No
crater was formed considerable amount of smoke & flame observed.
The Battalion was relieved
by the 19th Bn. R. W. F. and took up billets in
BULLY GRENAY vacated by the 12th S. W. B..
