19-10-16 Instructions received as to the relieving of the 40th Division in this sector. Casualties :- Nil

E. MAROC Disposition of Companies :- 'B' Coy on right; 'C' Coy on Left; 'A' Coy right support and 'D' Coy left support. Double CRASSIER held by 2 Officers and 60 bombers. Relief completed at 2:30 p.m. Casualties :- Nil.
RIGHT
LOOS 21-10-16 In the in morning in L/Cpl Allcock one of the bombers on the CRASSIER opened a conversation with a German on the Southern CRASSIER. He then went across to the S. CRASSIER and was followed by L/Sergt Hobby & Sergt Stiff. They found out that the Germans belonged to the 264th Saxon R. and also the 26th Bavarian Rgt.. Some 15 to 20 Germans were in this trench. These NCOs then returned unmolested to our own lines - bringing back with them a button, pipe and cigars etc. A small Officers patrol left right Coy front at 1. 10 a.m. and returned later reporting no enemy patrols seen or heard. Casualties :- Nil
RIGHT
LOOS 22-10-16 Quiet day with the exception of the usual T.M. activity. A small patrol out from Right Coy at 9:15 p.m. reported no enemy patrols seen. The work of wiring at the front and improving the trenches generally which suffered considerable damage from the strafe on Oct 17th was carried on. Casualties :- Nil
RIGHT
LOOS 23-10-16 An officer (2/Lt J. L. Hughes) and 6 O.R left BARRICADE SAP at 9 p.m. to reconnoitre enemys wire. Rain and darkness made it difficult to see and at 10:30 p.m. this patrol returned without having been able to discover any saps in hostile line. Casualties
