RIGHT LOOS  24-10-16
Usual T.M. activity. Lt BADHAM and 6 O.R patrolled from 10:15 p.m. until 130 a.m. for purpose of discovering gaps in enemys wire. Owing to darkness of the night they were unsuccessful

Casualties :- Nil

 

25-10-16
Quiet day.

Lt BADHAM and 6 O.R again patrolled No Man's Land but had to return to our own lines as a strong hostile covering party was protecting some enemy wirers.

The Bosch seemed to be firing some new kind of aerial dart which is fired similarly to our Stokes and with equal rapidity

Casualties :- Nil.

 

26-10-16
T.M. activity especially on the right near the Double Crassier.

Lt BADHAM again patrolled with intention of discovering gaps in enemy wire. He discovered a hostile wiring party and protected by a strong covering party. One of these returned to the Bosch Lines and sent off a Very Light upon which a M. G. opened fire on our patrol which took cover and returned safely to our trenches at 11:50 p.m..

Hostile aeroplane dropped 3 bombs on CARFAX Road & CORDIALE Avenue in the afternoon doing no damage.

Casualties :- Killed O.R 2 Wounded O.R 3.

 

27-10-16
Major F. S. B. JOHNSON left to take temporary command of the 20th Middlesex Rgt. and Major C. B. HORE assumed the command of the Battn at 12 noon.

2/Lt HUGHES left 'D' Coy with 7 O.R for purpose of discovering any gaps: and this attempt was also frustrated owing to the presence of a strong hostile covering party
