On the night 24/25th the Battalion relieved the 18th Welsh in the Font Line and the dispositions of the Companies was as follows : 

A Coy Right Front with D Coy in support

Battalion in Front Line. At 7.30 pm, on commencement of minor operation by 121 Brigade on our right, the enemy put down a heavy H.E. barrage on our wire, front & support trenches. This bombardment lasted until 8.15 pm. Owing to careful precautions being taken only 2 casualties resulted -  1 O.R. killed   & 1 O.R. shocked.

The battalion front carefully patrolled at night by patrols from each front line company
