obliterated.  Our Artillery retaliated and eventually succeeded in silencing enemy T.M.'s.

A patrol under 2 Lt L. A. WALTON left our trenches on the left of HART'S CRATER with  the object of examining MODEL MOUND.  2 Lt Walton reported  that the enemy were not holding MODEL MOUND but that they were hard at work on the front line trenches opposite.  On his return a few well directed rifle grenades put an end to this activity.

A small patrol of 2 men left our trenches between HARTS & HARRISONS craters and soon met an enemy patrol of about 14 men.  Our patrol got back unobserved and L - Gunners opened fire on the enemy with, it is believed, good results.

Casualties:- Killed O.R 1  Wounded O.R 9  (5 shell shock)
