In Brigade Reserve in N. MAROC.  Billets were  good and much was done to improve them by lime washing cellars and constructing beds for the men.

On 9/9/16 'A' Coy proceeded to CLARQUES to dig trenches for the First Army T.M.  School.  Lt Colonel Wilkie proceeded to England on leave on 8/9/16 and  Major C. B. Hove (12th S. W. B.) assumed  temporary command.

Casualties  -  nil.

LES BREBIS   11/9/16   
The 119 th Bde.  was relieved by be 121st Bde in the LOOS Sector on 10th & 11th inst. The 17th Bn. Welsh was relieved by the 20th Middlesex in N. MAROC and proceeded to LES BREBIS taking over billets vacated by the 13th Bn. Yorks (Area B).

The Corps Commander (1st Corps) has awarded the Military Medal to 26138  Cpl Levi Davies, 17th Bn. Welsh Regt.  for the following act of
gallantry -

"On the night  3/4 September during a heavy bombardment Pte Seal of the 17th Welsh Rgt. was completely buried. Corporal  Davies rushed to his assistance, and, despite the fact that he was three times blown off his feet - on two occasions being blown into a mine shaft - he carried on; and, although in a dazed condition assisted stretcher bearer S. Jones, the two working under heavy fire, to extricate amount Pte Seal alive.  Unfortunately Pte Seal subsequently died from his injuries.
